Hello! I'm Kris.
I’ve been taking photos for a long time. Many years ago, I offered general photography services under the name Goldenrod Photography, but stopped doing shoots a few years ago when my daytime career got too busy.
When our newest dog, Sky the Samoyed, came to live with us in March 2025, I started picking up my camera again. I rediscovered my love of photography and realized the amount of joy I get from taking artistic photos of my dogs and animals in general.
I know many people who are just as bonded to their pets as I am. When I look at my own photos, I see moments that capture how deeply I feel for my dogs, and quite simply, it makes me happy! I want to share that same experience with other dog lovers by giving them personal keepsakes that celebrate their bond with their best friend. ❤
Gimli is more than 14 years old and is just as stubborn and tenacious now as he was when we adopted him at only a few months old. He’s a classic Chow Chow who is sort of reserved and quiet. Once a rocket-propelled poof that would blur across the backyard in pursuit of squirrels, these days he’s a little hard of hearing, doesn’t see as well as he used to, and gets slowed down by his arthritis. Still, he loves cuddling and enjoys riding around the neighborhood in his stroller.

Sky the Samoyed came to live with us in March 2025 when she was six years old. She is Blizzy's great-great-niece. Her uncharacteristic floppy ear and curly-q tail not only make her extra special, but also fit her goofy personality and energy. Sky has become our little ball of joy and has given us the opportunity to heal and learn how to continue loving after loss. Even Gimli discovered a new zest for life when Sky arrived, and I'm certain it's a part of why Gimli is still with us today.

Blizzy was my first-ever "my dog," and she will forever be my soulmate. We were two best friends who shared the same goofy personality and comforted each other in our anxious moments. She supported me through every good and bad moment of my young adult life, and helped me heal from depression and illness following my mom's death in 2016. Her final support and gift to me was an entire summer of togetherness after I was laid off from my dream job in March 2024.
